Isa Gregori 3rd of Spain by clubs

In the “San Silvestre” Trail of Pedreguer over a distance of 4.1Km where you had to go up and down the "Molinets" three times, last Sunday the Xavierian Nasio Cardona achieved victory absolute and the Dianense Laurence Rastell was the second absolute of the women with a time of 28:51. Laurence is looking better and better with each passing week

For her part, Emi López, also from Dianense, placed 3rd overall in the “San Silvestre” in Benidorm. This test was on asphalt, although with some difficulty, and over a distance of 4.2km in which it took 17:30.

For his part, the athlete from Tavernes de Valldigna Jose Enguix was 3rd Master E in the tough Rótova race over 10.1Km, setting a very good time of 38:30 (3'49”/Km ) and improving his best mark of recent seasons at 55 years of age.

Congratulations to the four!!!!

On the other hand, I attach the link to my last intervention in the “Cuídate Runner” program on radio MARCA where I talked about how to prepare a San Silvestre in recent days:

And finally a little athletic pedagogy:

If we stick to athletic canons, more than "San Silvestres" there are "Christmas races" that are held in the last two weeks of December.

Originally the San Silvestres are celebrated on December 31 to say goodbye to the year running, just as we eat grapes on the 31st (and we don't do it on the 27th for example).

Forty years ago any popular race was called a “popular marathon” but today, as sports knowledge has grown, we have come to call “marathons” only those competitions that logically meet the 42,195m distance.

This is why it is possible that one day the “San Silvestre” tests will be called only those that are held only on the 31st, just as it always was to say goodbye to the running year. And calling the others that are celebrated on other days "Christmas races" or in "another way"… What fallera association burns its falla on March 14 or 17? None. They all make them on the 19th. In this way Tradition, festival and culture are united.

So, respecting the canons of my sport, for a few years now I have been running my particular San Silvestre as a family on December 31st. And as family runners we like to end the year running...

Happy holidays with many strides and kilometers!!
