Very emotional tribute to Álex Calabuig in La Milla de Villarejo de Salvanés
Yesterday morning we had the pleasure of sharing a good number of friends from Álex Calabuig his tribute. Tribute organized for this urban mile of the Madrid town of Villarejo de Salvanés by the great Pedro Prieto who always knows how to treat all runners with a lot of care and affection. We could not miss this appointment because those who know Álex know how extraordinary person he is, a human being to take his hat one and a million times. Always unlogting for others, for our sport that is a staunch passionate - as the most of our country - and that always flees from prominence. Suffice it as an example that yesterday was assigned as is logical the number 1 and did not want to shut up in his speech of thanks in "that he accepted it with love but who deserved to take him yesterday was Jesus Spain" How great!
Regarding the races itself my daughter Noa who participated with what is already her very good friend Julia Castillo, in the U12 race and both were left in an excellent fourth and fifth position in a closed sprint with those who preceded them. The distance was short, about 250m and the two knew how to give everything.
My dear Woman Laura also enjoyed as much as all of the event and although she could not run he was taking a lot of photos to immortalize so many moments that will remain in our memory and that you can see next.
I do not want to mention the great gesture of hospitality of our dear and appreciated friend Carmen Castillo, athlete and couple of Álex who welcomed us at his home in Chinchón in the previous night and we were so comfortable or more than if we were in our own house. Carmen and Alex, you have to return your visit to Dénia please, we feel indebted. Porn true we share stay with another great friend of Álex, Juan Solbes who fell greatly well.
Well, as I have commented at the beginning there we found a lot of friends and relatives in this mile where we pay tribute to Álex, and among others was how Carmen Castillo, Ernesto Calabuig, Alberto Hernández, Pep Ribas, Juan Solbes, Jesús Spain, Aurora Pérez, Fernando Marquina, Pepe Cortés, Sergio Fernández Infiestas, Isidoro Leon, presence many tears of emotion to the protagonist.
We practically ran in our different categories, but as competing was the least important, I can only say that all participants we enjoyed it a lot and did what we could but I do not know neither classifications nor chronos, except that of “Isi” León that I know that he won among the masters A. A local athlete of enormous quality, which is forest firefighter by profession and that he has been several times champion of Spain. Congratulations !!
